Barns ‘n Horses

The Trotter name has been connected to horses for generations. We’re dedicated to helping barn and horse owners sustain and expand their herds by creating new revenue opportunities beyond traditional riding and boarding. Our goal is to bring more people around horses in ways that benefit both the facility and clients while keeping operations low-risk for barn owners.

Partnering with Barns

Our primary focus is on corporate clients for Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions, which offer several advantages for barns:

  • Privacy and Security: Your barn’s address won’t be shared publicly on our website. Instead, only confirmed attendees will receive location details, maintaining a private and secure environment.
  • Corporate Etiquette: Our corporate clients value privacy and professionalism. They understand that the facility is private and appreciate the exclusive nature of their experience.
  • Low-Risk, Unmounted Sessions: EAL sessions are conducted with participants on the ground, reducing the risk associated with riding. Although there is always some level of risk, unmounted  sessions help minimize exposure.
  • Weekday Scheduling: Most sessions take place Monday through Thursday, with peak days from Monday to Wednesday—typically quieter times for barns, allowing you to maximize facility use without interfering with regular activities.
  • Insurance Coverage: All EAL facilitators are required to carry insurance that also covers the barn during sessions.
  • Facility Requirements: We do require an indoor barn or arena, and depending on the season and region, a heated space may be necessary to ensure comfort for participants.

Partnering with Horses

EAL training sessions typically involve five to ten horses each day. As horse enthusiasts, we understand how valuable your horses are to you, and we work closely with you to ensure they are comfortable and well-cared for throughout the process. Here’s how we make it work:

  • Certified Leadership: All events are led by EAL-certified facilitators, with experienced handlers on-site to manage interactions and ensure a safe environment for both horses and participants.
  • Stablemates Only: We require that all horses participating in sessions come from the barn hosting the event. This ensures they are familiar with one another and live harmoniously, reducing stress.
  • Site Visit and Orientation: Prior to each session, our team will conduct a site visit to meet your horses and review your barn’s setup, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all involved.
